For this, my first assignment for The
Hollywood Reporter, I interviewed fifteen show business legends,
including Kirk Douglas,
Shirley Mac Laine, "Chinatown" screenwriter Robert Towne,
Carl Reiner, Aaron Spelling, Robert Wise, Liv Ullmann, Roger Corman and Steve Allen. I got to talk Bogart with Lauren Bacall and Quincy Jones told me I was "a real 360
dude" (a week later, I figured out it meant "well-rounded").
